Compensation range: $80,000-$95,000/year

Position Summary

Position Overview

The Health and Wellness Events Manager will play a key role in Porter Hospitality's events team, with a specialty focus on health and wellness programming. While this role will lead fitness and wellness initiatives, it is also an integral part of the broader events team, contributing to a variety of cultural and corporate events across our properties. This individual will manage event planning, day-of execution, and sales efforts to drive external bookings and maximize revenue opportunities.

Essential Functions

Event Planning, Sales & Execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all fitness and wellness events while also supporting general event programming across Porter Hospitality properties.
  • Actively sell and promote event offerings, with a focus on driving external bookings, increasing revenue, and expanding client partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, wellness brands, and local businesses to generate leads and secure event bookings.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a range of fitness and wellness experiences (e.g., yoga sessions, guided meditation, fitness classes, wellness workshops) as well as general hospitality events.
  • Collaborate with the broader events team to ensure seamless event logistics, including space setup, vendor coordination, and guest experience enhancements.
  • Maintain a proactive and hands-on approach to event execution, troubleshooting in real time to ensure smooth operations.

Partnership Development & Community Engagement
  • Build and nurture relationships with fitness instructors, wellness experts, corporate wellness programs, and health-focused brands to create collaborative programming.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses and influencers to expand the reach of Porter Hospitality's wellness and cultural events.
  • Identify trends in fitness and wellness to ensure Porter Hospitality stays at the forefront of innovative and engaging programming.

Operational Excellence & Guest Experience
  • Work closely with property teams and the broader events team to integrate fitness and wellness initiatives into the overall guest experience.
  • Ensure brand alignment across all events, maintaining Porter Hospitality's high standards for hospitality, design, and service.
  • Track event performance, gather guest feedback, and continuously refine offerings to enhance engagement and attendance.

Marketing & Promotion
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies for events, focusing on sales conversion and audience growth.
  • Assist in creating event-related content for social media, newsletters, and on-site collateral to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Ensure that all wellness and fitness events are effectively marketed and communicated across Porter Hospitality properties and external channels.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with ability to learn in house programs.
  • Sales-Driven Mindset: Ability to identify, pitch, and close event sales opportunities, from corporate wellness programs to private fitness retreats.
  • Passion for Wellness & Events: Deep understanding of wellness trends, fitness programming, and holistic health, with experience in broader hospitality events.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate logistics, and execute seamless events.
  • Relationship Builder: Proven ability to cultivate partnerships with vendors, instructors, and corporate clients to drive revenue and engagement.
  • Marketing Awareness: Familiarity with social media, content creation, and event promotion strategies to drive attendance and visibility.
  • Hands-on & Adaptable: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, problem-solving in real time, and supporting the broader events team beyond wellness initiatives.


Education/Experience
  • Experience: 3+ years in event management, hospitality, fitness/wellness programming, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on sales and business development.
  • Bachelors/Associate degree preferred.
