Position Overview
Wireless Engineer
Requirements:
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Participates in building physical and virtual lab servers, lab network planning, design and engineering.
- Evaluate and certify Methods of Procedures (MOP) and Installation Guide (IG) in new network solutions for production deployment and deliver Test Certification reports.
- Build lab networks as necessary and perform network troubleshooting in the Lab environment.
- Understand project requirements; define Test Cases, development Test Plans and documentation of technical test reports.
- Implements network enhancements and recommendations for performance improvements.
- Works on projects/ systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization.
- Report and Track defects on MOPs and IG to development team through ticketing system (JIRA) and follow up for resolution and lab verification.
- Works on one or more projects simultaneously as needed and responsible for the complete project deliverables.
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
- Know, understand and follow company policy.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge:
- Should have excellent knowledge in building maintaining Linux Servers, Virtualization platforms, storage platforms, VMware, V-Sphere, Net-App, Cisco UCS chassis.
- Should have excellent knowledge in IPv4, IPv6, routing, switching, various topologies, Access points, WLAN Controllers, in-Home Router, IPv4 / IPv6, TR-069, IPSEC, QoS, 802.11.
- Excellent working knowledge in testing and certifying RADIUS / DIAMETER AAA servers.
- Excellent knowledge in routing, switching protocols. Knowledge in SNMP, CAPWAP, LWAP protocols is a plus.
- Experience developing test automation scripting in Python programming languages is preferable.
- Must have good experience with test tools like Spirent, IXIA traffic load generators for Network performance testing and analysis.
- Should have knowledge of various Network adjuncts and services i.e. AAA, Diameter, EAP, PDSN, LTE Data, VoLTE, GRE, Soft GRE, L2TP, CAPWEP.
- Experience using protocol communications test equipment and tools (protocol analyzers, CDMA / LTE system simulators, wifi analyzers and packet sniffers).
- Must possess excellent industry knowledge and theoretical understanding of RFC standards, 802.11 specifications (a/b/g/n/ac/ax, SISO, MIMO, MCS index).
- Experience with System Integration testing and Q/A for Layer 1 thru 7 networks.
- Experience writing and developing detailed test cases and test plans.
- Must possess expert skills and experience with server, desktop operating systems and applications (Windows, MAC, Unix, Linux other Java-Linux platforms).
- Strong work ethic with a desire to meet and exceed personal and business goals.
- Expert level communication, documentation, teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated to take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables.
- Experienced technical writing skills sufficient to produce test cases, test plans, design documents, and technical diagrams.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently on assigned projects.
- Strong documentation, follow-up, communication skills.
- Learns and adapts to new technologies and methodologies. Must be able to think outside-the-box and exercise innovation.
- Ability to work with little supervision to execute highly technical and complex tasks.
- Organized with a strong attention to detail.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Professional level certification or equivalent work experience.
- Related Work Experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience in an MSO/ISP Networking Engineering capacity.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
