Job Summary:

Seeking a Women's Health Quality Medical Director for Kennestone Hospital to ensure quality and safety initiatives within the Women's Health service line at the hospital.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

(a) Support and assist with leadership around quality, safety, clinical standardization and process improvement within all maternity care areas, including but not limited to triage, labor & delivery, and postpartum units plus all related maternal care services (lactation etc.) at the Hospital
(b) Assist in developing, implementing and regularly updating patient care protocols, pathways and guidelines for the delivery of patient care assure consistency with national best practice standards;
(c) Establish and lead the development and implementation of Hospital level quality and safety structures charged with developing and implementing improvement initiatives for maternity care in collaboration with nursing and service line leadership;
(d) Assist and support quality oversight and overall coordination of patient care within the Hospital's current maternity care areas;
(e) Serve as the hospital's Physician Liaison in partnership with the Wellstar Women's Health Service Line, including meeting and committee participation;
(f) Serve as the lead maternity care liaison for all providers and areas regularly
collaborating with maternity providers around PI efforts. This includes but is not
limited to nursing, maternal fetal medicine, anesthesia, pediatrics, neonatology,
nursing, radiology, and perioperative services;
(g) Assist in the development of and participate in quality assurance and quality
improvement programs as a physician leader; and
(h) Participate in Medical Staff activities intended to enhance the quality of care provided by the unit(s), as needed, to include: utilization review, performance improvement, peer review, pharmacy and therapeutics, medication management, and others as deemed necessary.

Required Minimum Education:

A MD, DO Degree Required and
Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia Required and
Applicants must have completed the necessary Residency training requisite for their given specialty and be Certified or qualified for Certification by their respective specialty Board Required
