Description:

Williams College seeks a full-time Workday IT Business Consultant to join the Administrative Information Services team. This position supports the effective use of enterprise administrative applications by staff, faculty and students, working primarily in the area of Human Resources, which has recently transitioned to Workday.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work with campus community members to understand business needs and requirements, and apply technology to support them
  • Collaborate with and coordinate work with functional subject matter experts and technical staff to implement solutions
  • Develop and execute test plans for new and updated functionality
  • Communicate clearly with functional and technical staff about updates, issues, and enhancements
  • Create end-user and technical documentation for business processes, reports and data integrations
  • Continually improve knowledge of business unit needs, evolving system capabilities, and identify and recommend opportunities for improvement
  • Troubleshoot issues in coordination with technical and functional teams


Requirements and Preferences
  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues
    • The ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse mix of staff, faculty, and students
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business requirements and analyzing business processes
    • A self-motivated, curious, detail-oriented, and well-organized individual able to work productively both independently and in teams
  • Preferred
    • Experience implementing and maintaining cloud applications like Workday
    • Experience with reporting and data integrations
    • Experience working in higher education


Application review will begin on May 7, 2025, and will continue until the position is filled. Pay starts at $90,000, commensurate with experience.
