Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present-day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson's Landing, and Squamish River watershed. The Squamish Nation has occupied and governed the territory since beyond recorded history. The Squamish Nation's culture is rich and resilient. As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 14 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.
About The Opportunity
Working as an integral part of the Yustway Health and Wellness Department reporting to the Director of Yustway Health and Wellness, the Senior Health Manager supports the Director to ensure smooth daily operations of the department and acts as the first point of contact and direct supervisor of the 5 YHW Division Managers and department Administrative Assistant. The individual ensures the YHW staff team is supported to provide quality health care services and programs, uphold exceptional client service and safety standards, and contribute to YHW's innovative growth and development. They will support the Director to ensure all efforts are directed toward achievement of the Yustway Health and Wellness Community Plan, and to align all department activities with the organizational goals, plans, policies and procedures. This senior level position requires a professional and skilled leader who has exceptional knowledge and skills in people leadership, management and administration, public health systems planning and design, budgeting and financial management, and communications and engagement. The individual promotes a culturally safe, supportive, and empowering environment for Managers and staff, Squamish People, colleagues, and partners. They work from a place of respect for, and a willingness to learn about, the Squamish worldview that recognizes and honours the values, beliefs and customs of individuals, families, and the community.
What You Bring
Salary: $ 114,179 - $ 127,880 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program
