We are searching for the best talent for a Director, JSA Strategic Programs to be located in Titusville, NJ.

This Director position will report to the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs Business Strategy & Operations and will provide strategic program management expertise that effectively connects strategy and execution. This role supports both Scientific Affairs (SA) and Medical Affairs (MAF) leaders in achieving their business objectives.

Key responsibilities will include SA Leadership Team operations, planning and facilitating Medical & Scientific Board (MSB) meetings, and coordinating MSB strategic priorities delivery. As a strategic advisor, this highly visible leadership position requires regular collaboration with senior leaders across Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, and North America Operations.

The role will primarily focus on delivering high-priority strategic programs and projects across SA and MAF, necessitating extensive skills in project planning, execution tracking, reporting, and communication management. It will also involve team member engagement, risk identification, and the management of organizational change.

Additionally, this position will lead the identification of process improvements and transformation initiatives, necessitating experienced leadership of cross-functional teams and partnership with senior leaders. This collaboration is essential to ensure that key projects align with business objectives and meet established critical metrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and members of the Scientific Affairs Leadership Team on all aspects of strategic leadership team operations, including the planning and execution of leadership team meetings.
  • In partnership with the CSO and the chair of the Medical & Scientific Board (MSB), engage with MSB members to identify, shape, and coordinate the execution of annual strategic priorities.
  • Serve as the end-to-end Project and Change Leader for complex initiatives, guiding projects from conception through to successful completion.
  • Implement best-in-class methodologies, including charter development, scope definition, maintenance of project plan, facilitation of project team meetings, and customized reporting of project metrics.

  • Lead high-performing project teams to ensure alignment with project objectives, delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Apply formal organizational change methodologies, such as PROSCI, to ensure the effective adoption and integration of project outputs into the organization.
  • Establish authority in project risk management and contingency planning, including maintaining a risk registry, conducting impact analyses, and designing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain a strategic perspective when analyzing complex information, effectively assessing impacts on therapeutic areas (TAs) and Centers of Excellence (CoEs) while leading through complexity.
  • Monitor critical metrics that affect the project and business, ensuring confidential communication of these indicators to leadership.
  • Implement robust stakeholder management among senior leaders and workstream leads
  • Successfully lead vendors, consultants, and external partners as needed.
  • Drive the evolution of processes, systems, and operating models to enhance organizational capabilities and improve overall performance.


Qualifications

Education:
  • This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • A post-graduate degree (e.g. MBA, MA, MS) is preferred
  • Professional project management (e.g. PMP), organizational change (e.g. PROSCI), or Six Sigma (e.g. Green Belt) certifications are preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of comprehensive business experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
  • At least 8 years of formal experience in Project Management and/or Organizational Change, specifically leading large-scale transformation initiatives


Preferred:
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) or other business intelligence tools
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience
  • Previous resource and/or capacity management experience

Other:

This position may involve up to 10% travel to support project teams at multiple sites/locations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$146,000 - $251,850
