The Director of Marketing (DOM), Mood is the most senior marketing and strategy leader responsible for marketing strategy and implementation for our portfolio of brands in the areas of professional, consumer and patient marketing.
The DOM, Mood, is considered the P&L leader for Neuroscience and will report directly to the Vice President of Neuroscience Marketing, Franchise Strategy & Key Account Management

The position is located in Titusville NJ and requires up to 25% travel, predominantly US, with limited OUS travel. At J&J, we work flexibly with 3 days in-office with 2 days remote work.
Candidate profile requirements: The candidate must be innovative, proactive, and strong analytically with excellent overall business acumen. Must be capable of managing and prioritizing multiple priorities and able to demonstrate good judgement. Demonstrated ability to think strategically. Can operate in two worlds - big picture orientation with attention to detail. Interpersonal flexibility to effectively interact with a broad range of personnel and audiences. Must be collaborative, change agile and demonstrate courageous leadership to drive decision making to impact the business and support unmet needs for patients.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $173,000 to $299,000.
Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.

The Director of Marketing (DOM), Mood is the most senior marketing and strategy leader responsible for marketing strategy and implementation for our portfolio of brands in the areas of professional, consumer and patient marketing.

Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing an integrated strategic plan for Mood (SPRAVATO and near-term pipeline) - building and guiding brand positioning, messaging and overall branding experience, working to maximize our marketing communications to physicians, offices, customers and patients.
- Work in conjunction with franchise strategy, developing annual Marketing Plans for the franchise and executing both product and service innovations.
- Lead the translation of insight to strategy to execution to partner with multiple functions including Sales, Sales Training, Franchise Analytics, Strategic Customer Group, Medical Affairs, Global Strategic Marketing, North America Pharma affiliates, Alliance Management, Commercial Excellence Corporate. Communications, and outside vendors in order to effectively execute key commercial activities and achieve business goals.
- Lead a team of existing marketing professionals and help build, shape and coach both leadership and foundational and expert marketing competencies throughout their team.
- Lead annual financial forecasts within Mood and maintain budgets to support financial objectives.
- Track and monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly performance of franchise and recommend corrections as needed.
- Continually assesses competitive landscape and proactively respond to needs.
Experience requirements:
- BA/BS required and an MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years' business experience (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Management, etc.) of which at least 8 years of demonstrated marketing experience and proven performance is required.
- Demonstrated success in critical marketing competencies required.
- Experience in consumer marketing/DTC required.
- Strong understanding of US payer landscape required.
- Ability to succinctly tell a story for executive audiences of brand.
- Provide leadership to cross-functional team on brand priorities and focus areas.
- Experience in directing and managing advertising agencies is required.
- Strong people management and development capabilities are required.
- Demonstrated organizational leadership capabilities required.
- Prior experience in competitive markets required.
- Advanced communication and presentation skills required.
- Launch experience is strongly preferred.
