Industry leading distribution company in the Etna, OH area is seeking a Warehouse Department Manager that is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the inbound department operations. This role ensures efficient workflow, accurate inventory management, and a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to continuous improvement.Responsibilities:Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the assigned warehouse department, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of goods. Develop and implement departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize workflow and improve productivity. Monitor and manage departmental performance against established KPIs, including throughput, accuracy, and efficiency. Ensure accurate and timely processing of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, or inventory control activities, as applicable. Manage and optimize warehouse space utilization within the assigned department. Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions. Coordinate with other warehouse departments and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations. Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and motivate a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and support. Schedule and assign tasks to team members, ensuring optimal resource allocation. Monitor employee performance, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Resolve employee conflicts and address performance issues in a timely and professional manner. Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new warehouse associates. Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory management within the assigned department, including cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and inventory accuracy. Monitor inventory levels and identify potential discrepancies or shortages. Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and ensure accuracy. Assist in managing returns, damaged goods, and inventory adjustments. Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the assigned department. Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Promote a safe working environment and enforce safety procedures. Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment. Maintain accurate safety records and documentation. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to warehouse operations. Performance Reporting & Improvement: Monitor and report on departmental performance metrics and KPIs. Analyze data and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse processes. Prepare regular reports on departmental activities and performance. Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings. Qualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other warehouse technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
