A Defense contractor in Englewood Colorado is looking for a SECRET cleared Project Engineer to support the ongoing engineering process of their Satellite Program. The project engineer is responsible for designing the engineering development effort and leading the execution and implementation of the engineering process in concert with the Chief Engineer and Project Manager. They ensure that program needs are defined and met, manage resource needs and lead engineering activities for a cross-functional engineering team on a project, develop and execute program plans to conform to cost, schedule, production, and performance commitments, support technical leadership on product design, development, and improvement projects, coordinate with program management on risk management, represent the project team's efforts to the engineering functional organization and Project Management, communicate with engineering professionals, solution users, and management throughout the solution development cycle, present engineering work products in periodic and milestone reviews to senior staff and customers, and organize all engineering work to support the project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and budget per the Project Management Plan (PMP). he defense contractor offers a 9x80 work schedule where you have every other Friday off, 401k matching contribution, a pension plan, tuition reimbursement, excellent medical plan, social events, charity events, all embraced within a strong corporate culture of support, learning and growth.

Required Skills & Experience

A bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline

2-5 years of project engineering or project management responsibilities within government programs

Understanding of Earned Value Management or similar cost to schedule frameworks

Active DoD SECRET Clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Project engineering experience within a satellite program

Experience with government requirements tracking software such as DOORS
