Leveraging state of the art technologies, you will be instrumental in delivering holistic protection to a user base of tens of thousands of government organizations, enterprises, and small and medium-sized businesses around the globe. The Microsoft Threat Protection team is responsible for delivering a constantly evolving set of services and solutions to meet the challenging landscape of our ever-evolving attackers.
This is a Software Engineering team which specilises in design cloud service architectures and building infrasturcure platforms. You will help conduct business reviews and operate our production services. Proficient collaboration skills will be required to work closely with other engineering teams to ensure services and systems are highly stable, performant, and meet the expectations of internal and external customers and users.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you would be responsible for:
- Defining well thought out design patterns and code with an emphasis on quality, simplicity, maintainability, and performance Engineering systems.
- Driving efficiencies through software improvement and root cause analysis resulting in service delivery, maturity, and scalability.
- Proactively identifying and reducing issues through design, testing, and implementation of software-based solutions
- Identify opportunities and drive the design and implementation of end-to-end telemetry, alerting, self-healing, and automation capabilities to improve service health, manageability, and reliability.
- Mentor less experienced engineers on coding and design best practices.
- You will be responsible for working with various disciplines; to address customers' needs and create new scenarios and features that provide customer value.
- Support a 24x7 live site support model for the services the team owns.
Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- 4+ years of a mix of coding/testing/Integration experience
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Azure DevOps and GitHub tooling
- Platform development experience for sandboxed environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager configuration.
- Proficient understanding and experience with CI\CD concepts and source control
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security Researchers, and Data Scientists
