The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is committed to training and inspiring the next generation of health care leaders. Faculty members in the Department of Health Policy and Management seek an energetic and organized Statistical Analyst/Programmer to assist with a portfolio of multidisciplinary health policy and health services research projects.
The Statistical Analyst/Programmer will be an integral member of a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team on statistical analysis of large scale data. The incumbent works with faculty (physicians and social scientists) and research assistants to provide comprehensive data management/analysis support for a variety of projects and personnel. Typical team projects include studies related to quality measurement, access to care, and health care reform.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, public health, applied mathematics, computer science, or closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of related work experience required
- Statistical programming experience in SAS required
- Strong database management and computer skills required
Additional Qualifications and Skills
The following job-specific skills and competencies are preferred:
- Master's degree in Statistics/Biostatistics preferred, with 1-3 years working experience preferred
- Knowledge of statistical research methodology/principles
- Knowledge of SAS
- Knowledge of SUDAAN and UNIX
- Ability to summarize/interpret complex analyses and strong deductive reasoning skills
- Ability to maintain detailed documentation of data management and programming work
- Comfortable working with multiple PIs and multiple projects at the same time
- Advanced skills/experience in statistical programming and data management
- Awareness of and aptitude to appropriately and effectively understand, respect, and adapt to cultural and identity-based difference within group environments
- Knowledge of and commitment to concepts and issues tied to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Skills related to creating and supporting an environment that allows for inclusion, effective intercultural engagement, and personal humility and authenticity
