Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience
- Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations
- Supervisory experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Desirable Skills:
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credentials preferred.
- Experience working in Harvard'ssystems (GMAS, B2P, Oracle Financials, Research Administration Portal) strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience working with federal sponsors such as NIH, DARPA, DOD, IARPA, the newly formed ARPA-H, and with a variety of funding mechanisms such as contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, other transactions agreements.
- Knowledge of advanced financial principles, budget management and non-financial federal compliance requirements.
- Must be capable of managing multiple, diverse assignments/projects simultaneously, responding diplomatically to diverse constituencies in a deadline-driven environment, handling sensitive situations and information with discretion, and understanding and solving complex problems.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Proven track record of coaching and leading staff.
- Experience serving as an expert source of information, with a collaborative and flexible style.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of an organization and to understand minute details in addition to larger strategic goals.
Working Conditions
This position is based in Boston, but the work may be done primarily remote. Any remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process. *Note: Harvard employees working in California must be exempt.
