Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education or relevant work experience


Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • The following Additional Qualifications are strongly preferred. If you meet some, but not all, you are still encouraged to apply; we value employees with a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.1, WAI-ARIA, HTML5 and related Web Standards.
  • Understanding of the techniques used to make websites, electronic documents, and media content accessible
  • Basic fluency with assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking - and understanding of the experience for those using assistive technologies - or other accessibility features.
    • Drupal, WordPress or PHP experience a plus
  • Experience working in a higher education environment especially related to accessibility of teaching and learning materials, andworking with vendors on testing to ensure accessibility
  • Knowledge of compatibility issues affecting assistive technology use with common enterprise and/or Harvard's systems
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Shows enthusiasm, interest, and flexibility in acquiring new or emerging technology skills
  • Effective meeting facilitation and presentation skills


Certificates and Licenses

  • CPACC, WAS, ADS (IAAP) or other relevant certifications


Working Conditions

HUIT actively supports hybrid work where business needs allow. All remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (ME, MA, NH, RI, VT). This position will require onsite presence every other week, and additional travel to campus may be necessary based on business needs and the nature of work. Examples include bi-annual or quarterly Town Halls, critical business meetings or other work events. Advance notice will be provided. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.
