Job Summary
Assisting in researching and resolving regulatory issues relating to Comcast video, voice, and data services in California, this position has primary responsibility for assisting in the development of Comcast policy advocacy at the California Public Utilities Commission ("CPUC") and coordinating compliance with CPUC decisions and regulations. The position operates under the supervision of the Vice President- Regulatory Affairs and requires a strong background in regulatory affairs is desirable. This position is located in Livermore, California
Job Description

Core Responsibilities
  • Monitor for, identify, and report to VP new CPUC proceedings that may impact Comcast video, voice, and data services.
  • Assist in the timely filing of required regulatory documents, including applications, regulatory reports, and responses to data requests.
  • Manages franchise renewal and transfer efforts for assigned franchises consistent with the strategies and policies for the market area. Prepares franchise renewal applications and supporting data for renewal negotiations and assists in preparation of renewal strategy. Participates in franchise renewal negotiations with municipalities and/or their consultants.
  • Supports the government relations and public policy strategy as developed for the market.
  • Identifies important municipal issues of significance to the company.
  • Drafts, analyzes and/or presents legislation, amendments and testimony as necessary.
  • Oversees franchise-required construction installation of complimentary cable services to public buildings, including the negotiation of any additional terms and conditions with Local Franchise Authorities (FLA).
  • Reviews, interprets and communicates meanings of the terms and conditions of franchises, franchise-related agreements and other contracts for implementation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manages service complaints associated with complimentary services.
  • Oversees additional duties related to community affairs.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
