DUTIES: Provide technical leadership within the Application Platform Acceleration (APA) team responsible for removing infrastructure heavy lifting from Comcast product and development teams; build, run and enhance next-gen multi-cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) utilizing Open Source Cloud Foundry, and container orchestration platforms including Kubernetes and Concourse CI/CD; enhance platform services by incorporating load balancing, persistent storage metrics and telemetry, messaging, CI/CD, and data services; design, operate and support environments in public cloud services, including AWS, Azure, and GCP; automate ticketing and bug resolution processes using Puppet, ansible, BOSH, and Concourse CI/CD; migrate legacy applications to cloud-native environments using 12-factor application design principles; refactor applications to be container-friendly; create new cloud features, harvest/visualize metrics, monitor health/performance/capacity, etc. using Telegraf, Influx DB, Grafana, Kapacitor, Prometheus, Nagios, Java Python, and GoLang; partner with product and development teams to provide education and design consultation to junior-level engineers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; and five (5) years of experience working with PaaS and container orchestration platforms and tools, including Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS; performing automations using Puppet; of which three (3) years of experience includes utilizing 12-factor application design principles in a Cloud-native environment, and refactoring applications to be container-friendly; of which one (1) year of experience includes working with the following tools: Java and Python.
