We are seeking an experienced retirement professional who has a proven success in a client facing role. The Relationship Manager role is responsible for leading client service delivery in support of plan administration and client needs. The role incorporates daily oversight and coordination of all aspects of qualified (401k, 403b) and non-qualified retirement plan recordkeeping and administration. This includes resolution of client matters, coordination of internal groups for issue resolution, client presentations and sales support.

As the lead contact between Plan Sponsors and Schwab, the Relationship Manager will be accountable for client satisfaction and delivering support to clients by broadening Schwab's relationships with plan sponsors and plan participants. You will understand and adhere to Schwab policies and practices, and mitigation of operational and financial risk to Schwab.

- Leading approximately 10-15 client relationships.
- Understanding your plans to ensure administration is completed in accordance with plan provisions.
- Collaborating with business partners to delegate and lead client issues to successful resolution.
- Approaching every client interaction holistically by being aware of all issues and events related to the client and working together with peers to build an exceptional precise client experience.
- Ensuring client satisfaction, contributing to outstanding client promoter scores, and actively communicating plan administration activities with your internal teams.
- Supporting Sales efforts, as needed.
- Working reciprocally within the organization, sharing standard methodologies, and aiding in the continuous improvement of the services provided by Schwab to ensure your success.
- Implementing client and regulatory changes.
- Effectively and authentically communicating Schwab's value to clients.
- Applying specialized knowledge within all aspects of qualified and non-qualified retirement plan recordkeeping and understanding the broader impact on the company.
- Building and sustaining positive relationships with clients and partnerships with internal associates as well as key contacts within the industry to stay results oriented.
- 8 + years of experience working with employer sponsored Retirement Plans as your minimum requirement.
- 3-5 years of prior Relationship Management experience as your minimum requirement.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- ASPPA, CEBS and/or NIPA designation preferred. QPA, QKA, CPC or equivalent certification/designations preferred.
- Validated understanding of plan documents, ERISA, industry rules and regulations, and Non-Qualified plan design.
- Ability to develop and implement client strategies, retirement plan design, compliance, IRS reporting, as well as a shown understanding of mutual funds and other investments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight by your manager.
- Ability to drive corporate and departmental initiatives to effective and timely conclusions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, influence and build consensus among team members, leadership, and clients through agenda creation and formal presentations.
- Ability to identify client issues that pose a risk to the firm, handle them appropriately and recommend / negotiate solutions to address future issues effectively.
- Ability to implement recordkeeping oversight of plans with varying level of complexity.
- Time management skills and ability to handle multiple assignments at a given time.
