Description:
Gridiron IT is seeking a Enterprise Management Tools Engineer System Engineer to support a federal program in Springfield, VA.
The System Engineer will provide the best of breed engineering knowledge and experience, to assess new technologies, and design and engineer innovative technical solutions. Consults, plans, analyzes, designs, develops, tests, assures quality, configures, installs, implements, integrates, maintains, and manages systems. Analyzes, defines, and documents customer needs and required functionality. Designs, develops and tests theoretical and/or physical models. Analyzes system capacity and performance to support problem resolution and system enhancements and monitors systems tests. Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of providing technical assistance, consultation, advice and support, and regularly provides advice and recommends actions and solutions involving complex issues.
Job Responsibilities
Perform engineering, implementation, configuration, operations and sustainment of standardized Enterprise Management (EM) tools and services used to monitor, display, and report the health, status, and performance of IT services, maximizing the use of automated tools and processes. O&S includes all of the services associated with operating and maintaining the day-to-day functionality, reliability, availability, performance, and security EM tools.
Build, update, deploy, expand, and integrate EM tools including major planned vendor upgrades, enhancements, and releases. This includes updating the EM tools on all environments
Support the development and maintenance of EM requirements, working with the appropriate offices to allocate EM requirements to enterprise services, systems, and networks.
Assist with development, deployment, expansion, and integration of EM tools, capabilities and systems, including major planned vendor upgrades, enhancements and releases.
Provide detailed service interoperability standards and procedures for integrating new data sources into the EM suite of capabilities.
Establish integration/interoperability standards, develop processes, and perform functions to plan for and test, integrate, and deploy new enterprise IT services monitoring data into the EM suite of capabilities without disruption to users or impact to system performance.
Collect status and performance metrics reporting requirements from EM service users and create/configure auto-generated reports for them from the EM tools.
Make status and performance data available for performance and capacity analysis efforts.
Develop and maintain EM tool training documentation and/or media and make it readily available for use by EM service customers.
Document risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans for EM functions,
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in engineering or
6+ year of experience in engineering and an Associates degree or
4 years of experience in engineering and a Bachelors degree or
2 years of experience in engineering and a Masters degree
Experience in systems administration, systems engineering or Technician support
Experience with DNS, or BMC Truesight, HP NNM, ServiceNow or Riverbed Aternity
Security+
Clearance Level
TS/SCI (An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role)
