Senior Circuit Design Engineer

OVERALL FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Amplifier & Transducer Engineering, the Senior Circuit Designer Engineer will collaborate with Meyer Sound's Senior Design Engineer to design, prototype simulation, and testing of analog, digital and high-power circuits for audio amplification applications. The Senior Circuit Design Engineer is a full-time exempt position earning, $86,998.86- $173,250.51 annually.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, simulate, and test analog, digital and Class-D power circuits for audio amplification applications, involving the selection of components, evaluation of performance, and optimization for low noise, distortion, and other critical parameters.
  • Create PCB layouts for mixed-signal audio circuits, ensure that designs meet electrical, mechanical, safety and emission requirements, and collaborate with other engineers and PCB designers to optimize performance.
  • Build and test prototype circuits to validate design performance and ensure that circuits meet specifications, involving debugging and troubleshooting circuits and working with other engineers to identify and resolve issues.
  • Integrate mixed-signal circuits into larger audio systems and collaborate with other engineers to ensure that system-level requirements are met.
  • Document designs, test results, and design decisions clearly and concisely, and communicate technical information, and project details with management and team members.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies and trends in mixed-signal audio design, and continuously improve design practices and methodologies to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and testing analog and power audio circuits and systems.
  • Comprehensive Analog, Digital and Class D amplifier circuit theory knowledge.
  • Advanced test & measurement and prototyping techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and troubleshoot circuits.
  • Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Experience with Class-D amplifiers, professional audio, and SMPS are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with a specific ability to translate complex technical information into an organized and presentable manner.
