Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking an incumbent to provide clinical services in the Gastroenterology clinicsat VCU Health which will include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in Gastroenterologyoutreach locations. The incumbent will participate in the inpatient management of patients withGI conditions, with specific expertise in the diagnosis and management of GIdisorders. Incumbent will also participate as an attending physician on the Digestive Health service and perform endoscopic procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical - Provide clinical servicesin the gastroenterology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVHcampus and in gastroenterology outreach locations; participate in the inpatientmanagement of patients with GI conditions, participate in attending on theDigestive Health Service at VCUHS; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
Teaching - Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in themanagement of patients with GI conditions.
Research- Triangulation of health disparities-opioid abuse-outcomes in thecontext of inflammatory bowel disease to develop strategies for community basedimplementation to improve access and treatment responsiveness.

Required Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Must be facile with diagnostic endoscopy
- Eligible for Virginia Medical Licensure
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
