Position Description

This interim position is responsible for the academic quality of Wake Tech's degree-based Business Administration and Public Services Technologies degree programs.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Supervises assigned academic deans and department heads.

* Provides leadership and direction for division department heads, faculty and staff.

*Provides oversight and ensures quality control for the Associate in Applied Science degree diploma and certificate programs, as well as courses chosen by the BPST division.

*Oversees academic program vitality, enrollment management, delivery modalities, and staffing needs of assigned academic divisions.

*Manages budget allotments and requisition of future funds.

*Participates in the development and execution of strategic multi-campus planning.

Assures internal and external collaboration and communication with students, other college service areas, system's office, business and industry, community groups, individuals, and other external agencies that support the mission, goals, polices, and vision of the College.

Supports grant-funded opportunities as they relate to assigned academic programs improvement or growth.

Collaborates with college deans to ensure quality course and program accessibility to diverse audiences at various locations and through a variety of modalities.

Assists in the recruitment, selection and orientation of new faculty, staff, and department heads and works with the Executive Vice President to facilitate the recruitment of candidates and selection of a permanent Provost for Business and Public Services Technologies.

Assists the President and Executive VPs in pre-planning for new Western Wake Campus, the integration of non-degree and degree programs, and planning for regional partnership opportunities.

Facilitates the recommendations of faculty and advisory committees to maintain program vitality and relevance.

Facilitates course and program offerings to meet community demand.

Pursues and participates in the acquisition of grants to supplement resources.

Assures internal and external collaboration and communication with students, other college areas, systems office, business and industry, community groups, individuals and other external agencies that support the mission, goals, polices, and procedures of the College and the Division.

Facilitates department head, faculty, and staff in-service trainings and professional development.

Responsible for transfer course evaluations applicable to division programs of study.

Assures compliance with federal, state, and accrediting body standards and regulations for assigned academic programs.

Promotes the mission of Wake Technical Community College, as well as the North Carolina Community College System.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Leadership / management experience in a community college setting

Collaborative leadership style

Knowledge of Associate Degree programs and workforce continuing education programs

Proficient with MS Office applications

Excellent human relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills

Requirements:

Master's degree or higher in an area relevant to courses and curriculum offerings

Five years' demonstrated administrative and managerial experience

Teaching experience in an area of campus programs
