Nemours Children's Health is seeking an accomplished physician scientist and leader to serve as the Division Chief of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Division at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL ('Central Florida'). This is an exceptional opportunity with a competitive compensation and incentive package for a distinguished leader to further enhance a thriving Hematology/Oncology division in structural, clinical and academic domains. This position will provide strategic and operational leadership across all mission areas. The Division Chief will be accountable for maintaining and expanding clinical, educational, and research programs (including numerous clinical trials) as well as guiding faculty development, participating in clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and mentoring faculty, trainees, and medical students.
Growth and expansion of the Hematology-Oncology program at Nemours Children's Health in Central Florida is an important strategic priority for the organization with heavy resource investments in recent years and earmarked in coming years. The new Division Chief will lead this program's strategic growth, expansion and important Hematology-Oncology research in the coming years. This expansion will lead to an Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders based in Central Florida which will be a part of the newly formed Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours Children's Health, in which this individual will have a critical leadership voice. Nemours is committed to becoming a Top 10 pediatric healthcare institution, with hematology/oncology leading the way.
This role will report to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Nemours Children's Hospital, situated in the prestigious community of Lake Nona, Orlando, FL. The position offers exceptional clinical, laboratory, and health service research prospects. Academic appointments will be held at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience level.
Nemours Children's Health has grown to become one of the nation's largest integrated pediatric health systems, providing hospital and clinic-based specialty care, primary care, prevention and health information services, and research and medical education programs aimed at improving the lives of children and families. The division chief primarily will be the leader of the division based in Orlando, FL. However, she or he will participate in treating patients throughout the state of FL, and collaborative opportunities exist across the enterprise, including at locations in Jacksonville, FL, Pensacola, FL and Wilmington DE.
