Position Description:
The Nurse Manager is responsible to the Telemetry Nurse Director for the operational, fiscal, and clinical managerial direction of assigned nursing unit(s)/department(s) at all times. The Nurse Manager has the responsibility for assisting in the managing and directing the nursing care provided by all levels of staff members assigned. The Nurse Manager will assist with promoting cost containment in a manner which will not infringe on the quality of patient care delivered. The Nurse Manager will assist the Nurse Director to effectively assess, plan, and implement therapeutic nursing services in a multidisciplinary setting. Particular skill in to facilitate assessment, have knowledge of nursing principles and practices, staffing, aid in managing the budgeting and personnel, complying with regulatory requirements, and documentation; help mobilize and coordinate resources effectively. Knowledgeable about age specific needs of populations likely to be served by the unit.
Qualifications:
1. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana.
2. BSN or actively pursuing same preferred.
3. Three year of clinical experience preferred.
4. National certification in area supervising preferred.
