Senior Engineer

Job Description

• Deliver DPS design solutions
• Equipment and Design specifications, vendor bid evaluation, factory acceptance testing, vendor drawing review
• Deliver HV/ MV designs; single lines, layouts, BOMs, schematics, wiring
• Engineering design experience in Wind, Solar and BESS designs
• Relay design/ settings/ configurations for various applications; line, transformer, cap banks, etc.
• System studies:Short circuit, load flow, interconnection, protection and control, arc flash and others
• Provide expertise and guidance to both BBA's clients and project teams.
• Conduct technical reviews and oversee engineering and design activities.
• Lead projects; Proposal development, design development, design basis, detail design
• Mentorship of junior engineers
• Day to day execution of technical and strategic mandates based on areas of expertise and in coordination with BBA's internal disciplines located across Canada
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders in the renewables, industrial and electricity sectors across Canada and abroad.
• Provide exposure to potential new clients and expand relationships with existing clients.
• Support execution of the strategy and action plan.
• Cross-sell the services of other divisions within other business lines.

Requirements

• Engineering degree and registered as a Professional in Canada, within electrical or electronics disciplines.A suitable combination of qualification(s) in a relevant field and applicable experience is considered
• At least 18 years of professional experience, specializing in Protection System Engineering
• Experience within large industrial, power generation and utility settings with interconnected, networked equipment
• Demonstrated experience with different vendors and different protection schemes
• Strong communications, interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Extraordinarily versatile and broad - thrives on a wide variety of tasks and challenges
• Proven knowledge of project management practices
• Working knowledge of electrical design standards (CSA, IEEE, ANSI/IEC)
