Wake Forest School of Medicine is seeking a full-time, non-tenured, BC/BE Physician for their Academic Faculty / Medical Director leadership position in the Department of Family Medicine located at Piedmont Plaza in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The Community Medical Director has the responsibility of overseeing the community partnerships where the department has faculty and/or residents seeing patients. The oversight responsibility is to ensure high quality care, efficient use of the resources the department is providing to the organization, and to assess the ability to use the sight as a location to provide resident education.
The current sites include but are not limited to:
UNCSA United Health Centers (Federally Qualified Health Center) TAPM (FQHC in High Point) Bethesda Center Highland Ave Stokes County Health Department School Based Health Alliance
This role is not for day-to-day management. These organizations have a management structure in place, but it is to work with our partners to understand their needs, and how they are using the resources we provide.
This role will also evaluate requests from other organizations to determine if we are able to assist in providing care.
The medical director will work closely with the chair and the business administrator in making plans for community involvement.
The medical director will aid the department in living out the clinical provision of care in meeting the Community Medicine mission of the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Required Education:
- M.D./D.O. from an accredited medical school.
- Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution.
Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
- Current M.D. or D.O. license from the State of North Carolina.
- Board certification in primary care or related field from said residency.
- Certification in BCLS, ACLS required if stress tests performed or as required by specialty.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing required.
