The Strategic Sales Representative will be responsible for planning and executing ADTRAN's overall sales efforts in specific vertical markets to include utilities, municipalities, and wireless service providers (WISPs) with the goal of achieving sales volume and profits consistent with company objectives. The Strategic Sales Representative will contribute to the company's overall strategy development and provide sales and business-planning expertise to the rest of the Regional Service Provider (RSP) team as well as marketing and product management.
This position will be remote within the United States.

The Strategic Sales Representative will contribute to the company's overall strategy development and provide sales and business-planning expertise to the rest of the Regional Service Provider (RSP) team as well as marketing and product management.
This position will be remote within the United States.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulate and recommend plans, initiatives, goals, and objectives for ADTRAN sales activities to rapidly expand market share in the utility, municipality, and WISP markets in the US.
- Develop and execute both short and long-range sales plans and programs in conjunction with Senior Management, to ensure the profitability and growth of the company's products.
- Oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs within the utility, municipality, and WISP market.
- Coordinate and execute marketing initiatives in the utility, municipality, and WISP markets for ADTRAN solutions.
- Identify the strategic business opportunities and potential tactics needed to win new business opportunities.
- Work with product management to identify and evaluate new opportunities for existing products. Identify and communicate the opportunity for potential new products and solutions for the utility, municipality, and WISP markets.
- Execute marketing initiatives in the IOU vertical for ADTRAN products and solutions.
- Maintain a current working knowledge of ADTRAN products, current technology, future industry trends, relevant competitive solutions, products, and services.
- Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with key strategic partners in the utility, municipality, and WISP market.
- Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Computer Information Science or related field required.
- 2 - 5 years of professional experience with networking solutions.
- Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Must be knowledgeable of ADTRAN's business philosophy, familiar with ADTRAN technologies, and understand how ADTRAN fits into the marketplace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.
- Extensive travel is required in this position to support ADTRAN's sales objectives.
