Description
The selected project manager will serve in a critically important role to coordinate and monitor the activities of several teams during the project - to include the system integration team, the business advisory and organizational change management team, program office staff, hospital clinical staff, an IV&V team, and the IT team. This position will maintain complex budgets and spend plans, project schedules, and operational work plans. Many of these artifacts will be presented to our department's leadership and to legislature staff on a recurring basis.
Comprehensive Project Governance and Management which includes:
o Project Schedule Management Plan o Risk Management Plan
o Change Control and Issue Management Plan o Scope Management Plan
o Cost Management Plan o Organizational Change Management Plan
o Staffing Management Plan o Communication Management Plan
o Project Meetings and Protocols o Project Control Procedures
o Periodic Project Management Status Reports
Plan, schedule, facilitate, and document meetings, to include:
o Discovery meetings o Design meetings
o Status meetings o Agile meetings (daily stand-up, iteration planning, sprint review, and iteration retrospective, etc.)
Scope management
Continuous project schedule management and monitoring
Risk and issue management
Change control management Staffing plan management
Assist with project procurements
Assist with the evaluation of potential solutions
Produce reports and project artifacts
Assist with the management of project budget and spend plan
Create or analyze business requirements documents and project timelines
Drive team iteration execution, communicates with management and stakeholders, protects the team from uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional)
Manage project conflicts, challenges and dynamic business requirements to keep operations running at a high performance
Work with the team leads to resolve people problems and project roadblocks
Implement and support principles, rules and processes
Proactively identify and eliminate impediments and facilitate flow
Maintain team data in project management software (i.e. MS Project, Azure DevOps, SmartSheet, MS Teams, etc.) to support estimates and execution
Presents high-level project readouts for senior management
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
5 + years of experience in managing large IT projects
Experience in developing and executing complex project plans, schedules, budgets, and spend plans
Experience in leading large multifaceted IT teams to execute and lead successful project implementations
Experience in managing large projects with system integrators
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, high velocity, environment; ability to stay focused on responsibilities, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities under pressure.
Ability to drive effective meetings: workshops, design, and problem-solving sessions.
Ability to present ideas in business friendly and user-friendly language; demonstrated aptitude for communicating effectively with users and customers.
Preferred Experience
Experience implementing and/or managing EHR systems
o Knowledge of data systems used within a behavioral health setting
o Knowledge of the project management and procurement processes used by Florida state government
