Description:
Responsible for providing general and preventative care, conducting check-ups, treating illnesses, ordering lab tests and prescribing medication for children and young adults. Helps with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations.
Advocare Kressville Pediatrics, a large and expanding Pediatrics practice in South Jersey, is looking for a full or part-time Nurse Practitioner to join its well-respected group of 9 physicians. Our practice has two locations in Cherry Hill and Sicklerville, located 20 minutes apart and only a short distance from Philadelphia. Our facilities are state of the art, offering a fresh, comfortable atmosphere for parents and children. We offer a very competitive salary and benefits package, as well as a call schedule that allows for very few nights and weekends on call. All after hours calls are filtered through a triage service, allowing a significantly reduced amount of calls coming to the provider. Essential Functions:
Performing physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
Administering and performing diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
Detecting changes in patients' health and modifying treatment plans, as needed.
Educating and counseling patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care
Facilitating the patient's transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
Planning and managing patient care according to the patient's needs
Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
Actively maintaining knowledge of current medical research and trends
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare workers, and collaborate with team members
Must be able to think critically, evaluate various options to treat a condition and then identify the one he or she decides will have the best outcome.
Maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced yet friendly environment
Must be well organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion concerning health service records and information
Education and Experience:
Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse licensure required
Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program, such as a Master of Science in nursing
Must have a current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of practice
