Mechanical Engineer, Somerset, PA Office
Job Summary:
The EADS Group, Inc. has an opening for a full-time, experienced Mechanical Engineer in the Architecture Department of our Somerset, PA Office. Established in 1955, we have grown into an employee-owned, multi-disciplined Engineering, Architecture and Design Services firm with over 250 employees operating out of 9 office locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Prepare HVAC and plumbing construction documents including site investigations, drawings, specifications, and reports for commercial, residential, municipal and institutional buildings.
Design ductwork, natural gas piping, hot/cold water, sanitary, and other HVAC & plumbing plans including associated details, diagrams, and specifications.
Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing and selections.
Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, design team members and support staff.
Communicate with equipment vendors and manufacturers' representatives for selection and specification of Building Systems equipment.
Conduct job site observations, surveys and inspections as necessary.
Manage projects and conduct project meetings with clients.
Perform construction administration activities and interface with contractors, owners and vendors.
Collaborate with and mentor engineering and design technicians.
Education and/or Experience:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
Minimum 4 years of experience in HVAC/Mechanical building system design.
Experience with AutoCAD is required; Revit software experience is highly preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
License(s) and/or Certification(s):
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is preferred.
Minimum requirement of Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certification with ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year.
