Area Sales Manager US: Luxury Design & Architecture
We are a third-generation Italian design company specialising in high end stone. Our philosophy is "Stone Innovation" and that's what we are all about. We develop new textures and ways to work with stone, not only for walls and floors, but also bathtubs, basins, shower trays and furniture.
For 70 years we have provided product and design expertise to some of the world's leading names in retail, hospitality and private construction. From boutiques for Tom Ford, Salvatore Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton and Donna Karan among others, to luxury hotels including Armani, St Regis and the Radisson Kempinsky, along with private villas at some of the world's most exclusive addresses, we pride ourselves on delivering beautiful stone to create elegant and luxurious environments.
With established showrooms in Milan and Zurich, planned openings for London and Sydney, we are entering an exciting new phase of expansion which includes a showroom in New York. In anticipation of this, we are seeking a dedicated sales manager who can help prepare the path for us.
THE ROLE
Whilst Salvatori already has a number of distributors across the US, we are looking to take a significant step up in terms of raising the profile of the brand and as such you will be a key part of that process.
You will be responsible for expanding our network of distributors across the US whilst also serving our existing partners.
In addition you will be tasked with setting up a showroom in New York, from helping us find a suitable location right through to opening it.
You will also identify and train junior talent to support you as the network grows.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for a proactive, extremely organised self-starter with excellent time management and skills who will relish the opportunity to essentially run our US business and be passionate about helping us build our brand.
The suitable candidate will have at least three years in a direct selling role, ideally in one of the following sectors: bathroom products, ceramics or stone.
Networking and sound interpersonal skills are essential as is an understanding of the commercial world: negotiation techniques, competitive knowledge and strategic nous.
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of people from showroom staff to tradespeople to business owners.
You will be able to demonstrate leadership and the ability to manage and motivate agents.
You must be available and willing to travel 3 weeks out of 4 across 11 months of the year.
