Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Under the supervision and direction of the Director of the Quality Management (QM) Division, assists in the effective administration and completion of the Clinical Chart Review activities, via supervision of the daily concurrent and retrospective reviews conducted by the QM Chart Reviewers. The goals of the daily concurrent and/or retrospective chart reviews include the identification of documentation gaps, and collaboration with the clinical team for timely feedback and timely resolution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chart Review
Able to do clinical Review of patient charts and medical records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Identify and address any deficiencies or areas of concern in documentation and record-keeping, educate frontline staff on the deficiencies.
Implement quality assurance measures to improve chart documentation and maintain high standards.
Regulatory Survey Preparation
Stay up-to-date with current regulations, guidelines, and best practices in the relevant field.
Develop and implement strategies to ensure the organization is prepared for regulatory surveys and inspections.
Coordinate with staff to conduct mock surveys, identify potential areas of non-compliance, and implement corrective actions.
Serve as a liaison with department leaders, responding to inquiries and facilitating the survey process.
Assist Director of Quality Management/Regulatory Affairs to analyze survey findings, develop corrective action plans, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Regulatory Affairs/Quality Management.
Oversight and Mentorship
Supervise and mentor staff members, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they are performing their duties effectively.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to promote professional development and growth.
Ensure staff compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Departmental preferred:
Education: RN or MD, Master's degree preferred.
Experience: 10 years of experience as a Nurse or MD in an acute care facility. Prior infection control work, i.e., surveillance monitoring, exposure investigation, HCP immunization tracking, staff training, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or an approved systems-related program; and,
2. Six years of full-time, paid experience in business, government, hospital, educational institution or a non-profit organization in the development, analysis and implementation of systems and subsystems, manual and computer application, of which two years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or,
3. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the programs in (1); and,
4. Five years of full-time, paid experience as indicated in (2), with one year required at the supervisory, administrative or consultative level; or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
