Job Title: Technical Program Manager - Contract Manufacturing Partner (network, compute, storage)
Job Summary:
Our Client works with many contract manufacturer partners to manufacture their products. These partners need IT setup in their sites to connect to client's network, to send QA test result back. This TPM is responsible for working with our Ops team and CM partners, to establish the IT setup, ensure it is done in compliance with our standard, addressing any gaps.
Managing IT projects to establish new IT infrastructure (network, compute, storage) in contract manufacturing partner sites.
Review existing IT infrastructure in those sites to identify compliance gaps, IT standards, and drive efforts to close the gaps.
This role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure
components and systems, as well as expertise in working with construction vendors. A
successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing the build process,
working with other PMs for updates, as well as working with Hardware vendors/suppliers
to coordinate material lead times against supply chain constraints, to help ensure that
projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all technical requirements. This is
a key role that bridges the gap between IT and construction, ensuring seamless
integration of technology within the built environment.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management: Agile in a waterfall environment and Scrum
methodology
Develop and maintain project plans and budgets around the infrastructure based on the
overall Project delivery timeline.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, construction, facilities,
procurement, and vendors to define project scope and deliverables.
Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues to ensure successful project completion.
Monitor project progress, provide regular updates, and facilitate effective communication
among stakeholders.
IT Infrastructure Expertise:
Possess a deep understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers,
network equipment, storage systems, power & cooling infrastructure, as well as cabling.
Collaborate with IT, procurement, and project teams to define technical requirements,
design infrastructure solutions, and ensure alignment with business needs.
Work with internal teams for developing hardware, software, and technology solutions to
support office and lab related build projects.
Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends related to
IT infrastructure, and supply chain constraints.
Construction Vendor Engagement:
Collaborate with construction vendors to understand their timelines, deliverables, and
requirements.
Serve as a liaison between construction vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure
alignment and smooth communication.
Obtain regular updates from construction vendors regarding project progress and
milestones.
Coordinate with construction vendors to address any technical challenges or issues that
may arise during the build process.
Integration and Testing:
Oversee the integration of IT infrastructure components within the office environment.
Coordinate with internal IT teams and vendors to conduct thorough testing and validation
of all systems.
Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer for ongoing maintenance and
operations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, facilities, operations, and
project management, to align goals and objectives.
Facilitate effective communication and provide regular updates on project status,
milestones, and risks.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of IT
infrastructure into the overall project plan.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
(advanced degree preferred).
Proven experience in technical program management, specifically in IT infrastructure for
office and lab related build projects.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, systems, and best practices.
Experience working with construction vendors and familiarity with their timelines and
deliverables.
Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering
projects on time and within budget.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical
and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to analyze and solve problems, think strategically, and make sound decisions.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously.
Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulations related to data centers
and office spaces.
