Under the direction of the Associate Dean for EDI, the Assistant Director of EDI supports and guides EDI and racial equity initiatives, activities, and programs - including supporting and implementing the SPHTM Strategy for Tomorrow plan. The Assistant Director of EDI achieves defined objectives by implementing and managing programs and initiatives; proactively seeking and establishing relationships between internal and external partner organizations serving the SPHTM community as an EDI resource; managing the intake and triage of events submitted to the incident reporting system. The assistant director serves as a liaison with Communications for values, policies, and processes and evaluation of EDI indicators and metrics across SPHTM. They will also serve as the point of contact for student organizations for collaboration and student support. Working knowledge of federal regulations such as Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title IX as it relates to student accommodation.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and clearly with diverse audiences.
Ability to create, implement and expand new initiatives and programs.
Strong management skills and ability to coordinate teams and data across units.
Ability to manage and coordinate subunits in their EDI and racial equity tasks and initiatives.
Data management, tracking and evaluation of programs.
Experience in needs assessment and evaluation of workplace culture and policies.
Demonstrated experience in supervising teams.
Experience in training diverse populations and audiences.
Ability to prioritize function independently, and to work well as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Master's Degree in Public Health, Organizational Change, Leadership, Behavioral Health, or related field.
2 to 4 years of managerial and leadership experience, preferably in a higher education institution
2 to 4 years of experience in EDI related program and data management
Knowledge of SPHTM mission relative to research, education, and service
Experience in academic settings
