Lead Backend Engineer

The opportunity:

This is an opportunity to serve as a Lead Backend Engineer for a well-funded company building a global people prediction platform. We're experiencing more demand & interest than we currently have the capacity to build for - including from international governments, the largest utility firm in the US, enterprise institutions, & the NFL - and are looking for a talented senior engineer to take ownership of large parts of our stack and technical buildout.

This is an opportunity with a lot of growth potential.

Potential Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will focus dominantly on the backend, taking ownership of vital aspects of the product and infrastructure. In particular this could include:

• Designing and architecting systems so we can efficiently build scalable systems and future product lines.
• Building and maintaining our backend stack, ensuring our product can handle complex and diverse datasets while providing a unique blend of robustness and novel utilization.
• Build AI-driven products atop our data lake aimed at learning and anticipating individuals' behaviors through time for product-specific situations.

As an early engineer, you'll have freedom and autonomy to work on the most impactful technical projects within our biggest areas of demand.

Helpful Qualifications:

• 3 - 7+ years of of experience, with proficiency in Python & SQL.
• Experience with AWS, and at least one frontend language.
• A solid grasp of architecture principles.
• The ability to move fast and write code that solves technical and business problems.
• The ability to take a broadly defined task and autonomously fill in the gaps without every detail being laid out for you.
• Willigness to work in-office in NYC a few times a week.

Compensation:

• Base Salary Range: $140k - $175k+.
• Total Compensation including equity: Upwards of $210k+
