Job Title Business Unit Department Reports To Plant Manager Brock Grain Systems Operations BU GM BU Location BU Acceptance Approved By: Date Approved Vincennes, IN Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do: As the Plant Manager, you will manage the operations - including production, scheduling, warehouse, maintenance, and facility - to ensure (OCE) on-time, complete and error-free goals are attained within budget and resources guidelines. Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role
  • Operational Management & Leadership: 100% of the Job
  • Leads and manages the production and scheduling, following customer expectations, to ensure on-time, complete, and error-free shipments.
  • Manages and controls the related costs of the areas to ensure budget goals are attained.
  • Creates Lean-thinking and 5S initiatives within the facility to continually enhance quality, output, and delivery times.
  • Manages the safety and maintenance of the facility and equipment - initiating Capital Expense requests where applicable to ensure production and quality goals are met.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops team members to continually grow competencies within the facility while creating a collaborative work environment that retains top talent.
  • Interfaces with customers, Customer Service, and vendors to ensure smooth processes for all involved.
  • Manages and maintains inventory levels to ensure adequate inventory of production supplies and materials are available to meet production goals.

    Position Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or other related field; or equivalent of coursework and experience.
  • Experience:7+ years of progressive Manufacturing and Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment - including budget responsibility & experience with formalized Quality Management Systems.
  • Certification(s): Six Sigma or Lean certifications highly preferred, but not required.
  • Functional Skills: Strong budgeting, planning, and production scheduling and operation experience; Lean-thinking, Quality Management, and process improvement skills highly preferred; thorough understanding of the complete supply chain process; Safety/OSHA experience; along with strong attention to detail as well as solid decision-making skills.
  • Technology Aptitude/Skills: Above average experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Language Skills: Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Servant leadership skills with the ability to mentor, engage, influence, and grow a team; demonstrates a sense of high-urgency; experience as a "Change Agent" and ability to lead with a vision to align and motivate small teams.

    Equipment Used:
    • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
    Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:
    • Ability to stand for up 4-8 hours in one session
    • Ability to sit at desk for 4+ hours per day
    • Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen as needed throughout the day
    • Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow as needed throughout the day
    • Ability to read and respond on an on-going basis daily due to nature of the work, throughout the day
    • Ability to communicate with others via phone, in-person, and computer on-going
    • Ability to listen to customers, problem-solve, and respond accordingly
    • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
    • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull, stand, sit, walk, stoop, crouch, climb, straddle and carry items frequently
    • Lifting up to 50 lbs. sporadically
    Environmental Conditions & Travel:
    • This position is primarily exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level is high and personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and ear plugs are required. The position may face exposure to some high-heat areas; not air-conditioned in the summer and cold in the winter.
    • This position is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical equipment and parts, airborne particles or dust and parts with sharp edges and oil.
    • This position may face inclement weather conditions when traveling.
    • Travel: Limited
