Description
As a Sr. Avionics Engineer, you will be responsible for full component and system ownership throughout the entire design lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in architecting rover avionics systems and designing state-of-the-art avionics systems for the lunar surface. What You'll Do
- Designs electronic hardware focused on space avionics launch vehicle applications
- Develops avionics assembly designs primarily focused on control and monitoring of spacecraft systems
- Develops hardware designs and interface specifications
- Interface with other engineers to ensure seamless subsystem integration of mechanical, electrical, and software systems
- Develops of test plans/procedures and supports the execution test events
- Leads Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolutions
- Works with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
What's Prepared You
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering or mathematics)
- 5+ years' of experience in spacecraft systems design and/or avionics component design (academic and personal projects apply)
- Preferred Bachelor's, Masters or Doctorate of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
- Experience in one or more of: analog/digital circuits, embedded firmware, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), serial and parallel communication protocols, Ethernet, Spacewire, RS-422 and other communication protocols
- Experience in avionics screening techniques and standards, including shock, vibe, thermal and radiation
- Good communication, analytical, and organizational skills
