Senior Financial Analyst performs a variety of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, assisting with financial planning, performing research and analysis, preparing reports, and mentoring Financial Analyst.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The ability to complete all responsibilities of, and mentor Financial Analyst, including but not limited to: peer comparisons, sections of 10Q and 10K, monthly Board package production, etc.
  • Using excel, develop complex modeling systems to assist the Bank in making important financial decisions
  • With the support of the FO&A Manager, work with Executive Leadership Team and various budgeteers to prepare and review the Bank's annual budget
  • Work with the Treasurer to analyze investment securities for purchase and sale, assist with the annual MUNI review process, and prepare various Board and Committee power point presentations
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases, and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Assignments involving the essential functions outlined above may vary between individual Senior Financial Analysts. Emphasis may occur in certain areas such as investment analysis, asset/liability modeling, liquidity analysis, peer comparisons, risk-based capital, M&A modeling and capital planning, and the use of special function software such as Profitstar
  • Perform other special projects as assigned

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or technical school; five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or MBA (desirable)


Additional Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and financial analysis
  • Good understanding of GAAP rules and principles
  • Advanced understanding of financial concepts and tools, and the ability to use and construct financial models
  • Advanced Word, Excel, Power Point and accounting software
  • Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the Company
  • Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
