Someone who has done or is doing predictive data analysis and/or descriptive analytics for incidents in a pipeline setting. i.e. all the factors that are part of the daily routine in a midstream field location and how those factors could contribute to a near miss/casualty.

Description:
You will specialize in safety data, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting complex safety-related datasets to enhance our organization's understanding of potential hazards, risk factors, and safety trends which will directly contribute to the improvement of safety protocols, risk assessment strategies, and overall safety measures.
You will help inform key decisions through analytics-driven insights in support of various Safety & Reliability (S&R) initiatives using a variety of statistical and data science techniques, and present findings often including advanced data visualizations and storytelling.
Key stakeholders include Safety, S&R leadership, LP, GTM, Projects, GDS, Power business units and ELT (in support of safety program performance)
Conduct descriptive analytics, including regression and causal analyses, for incident prevention insights
focused on occupational safety and environmental events, leveraging multiple data sources.
Lead or contribute to cross-functional project involving S&R data, analysis, metrics or modelling.
Support for various analytics requests, focused on occupational safety and environmental incidents.
Advise S&R on data collection, usage, and visualization.
Apply natural language processing (NLP) to analyze unstructured safety reports, extracting vital information
Enhance predictive models for ongoing safety risk and incident forecasting, leveraging safety descriptive data, including safety barriers; advise on leading indicators for occupational safety.
Collaborate with SMEs for analytics requests, presenting findings via visualizations, presentations, and reports.
Collaborate closely with SMEs in S&R Safety to understand safety barriers (controls) and leading metrics
Communicate insights to S&R leadership and cross-functional teams.
Advise on data strategies, usage, and visualization for S&R stakeholders.
Identify data-driven business solutions and guide peers on data analysis processes.
Shape the future of analytics function and stay updated on S&R data analytics trends.
Gain an understanding of data sources and quality, collaborating with S&R SMEs, advise on EnCompass rationalization.
Provide insights on data sources, techniques, and their effectiveness.
Scope/Dimensions:
This role has enterprise-wide accountabilities.
Often involved in highly sensitive or confidential projects, expected to maintain confidentiality.
Expected to work independently and manage priorities and deliver on role accountabilities with little oversight.
Contributes to the S&R data science, data governance and management capability.
Collaborates well with S&R colleagues; supports, coaches and mentors analysts also focused on S&R performance analytics.
Leads others by example and provides innovative solutions to complex data science problems.
Demonstrates subject matter expertise in data science and ability to work on non-standard tasks with complete independence.
Contacts (Working Relationships):
Daily contacts with S&R senior leadership, VP S&R, as well as Performance Analytics team on accountabilities.
Core partnership with Safety (regularly work together on various projects).
Often interact with leadership in BUs across Enbridge and others outside of S&R

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Required:
University degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Operational research, or a related discipline.
Proven experience (3+ years) in a data and analytics role, preferably with a focus on safety data analysis
Proficient in MS Excel, PBI, Power Automate, Power Query, and basic data extract, transform, load functions.
Experience in Encompass will be considered an asset.
Understanding (or capability to quickly learn and apply) a broad range of descriptive analytics techniques
(e.g., linear and logistic regression, decision trees, clustering, principal component analysis (PCA)/factor analysis, text analytics).
Data storytelling, putting analytics findings in context, and conveying in a visually compelling way to senior audiences.
Ability to identify the underlying cause of issues, and question why things are the way they are, showcasing intellectual curiosity and autonomously recognizing areas that contribute value.
Works effectively with a broad cross-section of stakeholders within and outside of S&R.
Bring a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them.
Preferred:
Previous experience in safety data analysis would be considered an asset with priorities (injuries, safety incidents, motor vehicle incidents).
Solid experience with analytic modeling tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) to effectively communicate insights.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python/R, and SQL and experience in utilizing Power Automate and other data querying tools supporting predictive analytics.
Use of Encompass, data warehouse, and other databases.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a curiosity about new techniques, processes, and approaches.
