We are currently seeking a Metrology Engineer to help support our metrology lab. The metrology engineer candidate will have an engineering degree with good math and computer skills, comfortable with 3D and spatial calculations, and some experience with GD&T drawing standards. Preferred candidates will have experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment, with experience using 3D measurement tools, like laser scanners, structured light scanning, or portable CMM. We work in a fast-paced, changing environment, with technical challenges every day. The candidate should demonstrates fast, creative thinking, and enough curiosity to dig into tough dimensional challenges. A strong passion for cars, EV, creative engineering and a positive attitude make good candidates for the Lucid family.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. Base Pay Range (Annual)
$110,600-$152,020 USD

THE ROLE:
- Work with digital measurement data, as 3D mesh, 3D point cloud, DMO or Excel to prepare reports and share findings with other engineering departments.
- Use root-cause investigative tools to understand dimensional quality concerns, and use measurement tasks and results to support your findings. Create inspection procedures to support quality initiatives.
- Apply statistical tools to understand large sets of dimensional data, and identify areas for improvement. Experience with statistics, statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, Cp/CpK or similar quality control procedures. Comfortable manipulating and plotting data in Excel, Minitab, Polyworks or CM4D.
- Work with engineering drawings and dimensional definition. Comfortable interpreting and applying GD&T principles to ensure measurements are producing the correct results. Comfortable advising on GD&T and making recommendations to improve dimensional control.
- Create new inspection programming in Polyworks with support from our dimensional engineering group. Experience with programming macros or automating software tasks is very helpful for this role.
- Use 3D CAD to create fixtures and design new tools to support metrology tasks.
- Help develop new 2D and 3D measurement programming to support automated measurement tasks and improve work efficiency.
- Help design and integrate new 3D scanning systems to support dimensional tasks.

- Polyworks Inspector (latest version)
- CM4D
- GOM ATOS Professional, Tritop, and VMR for robotic cell.
- 3DExperience (Catia)
- Geomagic Design X (reverse engineering)
- Creaform Metriscan, HandyScan
- Faro Arm, Faro Tracker
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering plus 2 years of experience in a metrology or dimensional engineering role.
- Previous experience with Polyworks Software
- One year experience working with 3D measurement data
- Good engineering candidates demonstrate a strong capacity to listen and understand complex scenarios, a willingness to work independently through to completion, and good interpersonal skills.
