Our client, A large Geotechnical and Materials Engineering company is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer to lead the geotechnical team in Fort St. John with the support of the larger Geotechnical team based in the Lower Mainland.
The Fort St. John Office has a significant construction material testing team and small Geotechnical Team. With significant growth opportunity in the region, the right Engineer will grow the team through business development and develop the team with technical leadership.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide technical expertise and act as a technical advisor to the project teams as well as directly with clients.
- Actively pursue business opportunities in the Oil & Gas Sector through cold calling, networking, and referral and contribute to the development of new proposals.
- Coordinate and manage profitable projects with respect to time, budget, and scope.
- Conduct geotechnical field investigations and monitoring of construction activities.
- Mentor and develop the team and new employees.
- Primary soils in the region are Glacial in nature with glacial till and glacial lacustrine clays common in the area so projects currently range from construction, pipelines, oilfield laydown, municipal infrastructure, transportation, slope stability, and the door is open to diversifying our work.
- Work ranges across northern BC and Alberta.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- 10 or more years of Geotechnical Engineer experience.
- 5 or more years of project management experience as a P.Eng.
- Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
- Experience in business development in the Oil & Gas /Energy Industry.
- Experience with preparing and reviewing proposals.
- Experience with civil and geotechnical design software such as gINT, AutoCAD, and Slide.
