Fleming Insurance Holdings is a run-off reinsurer and ILS platform established to provide capital optimization solutions to the insurance sector. Fleming has operations in the US, UK, Bermuda and Cayman and conducts business globally. We are seeking a talented BI Analyst to join our lean technology team. This role is pivotal in transforming our insurance data into actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.
The position will be remote, with the candidate to be based in either the US or Bermuda. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities and tasks include (but not limited to):
- Data Analysis: Analyze claims data elements and apply knowledge of claims accounting fundamentals, including paid, expenses, case and other reserves, incurred value, etc. with trending over time.
- Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools such as MS Power BI, Tableau, QlikSense, etc., to create insightful dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
- BI Tool Evaluation: Assist in the evaluation and selection of appropriate BI tools that align with the company's needs and goals.
- Collaboration: Work effectively and collaboratively with business area leaders and data owners to understand their requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Data Integration: Extract data from Databricks data warehouse/data lake master data model and transform it into meaningful visualizations.
- Dashboard Creation: Design and develop interactive dashboards that provide real-time insights into claims data and performance.
- Data Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data visualizations by implementing data validation and quality checks.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation for data visualization processes, including data sources and dashboard specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data visualization and business intelligence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in data analysis and data visualization using tools such as MS Power BI, Tableau, QlikSense, etc.
- Strong understanding of claims data elements and claims accounting fundamentals.
- Ability to work collaboratively with business area leaders and data owners to gather and refine requirements.
- Proficiency in data extraction and transformation from data warehouses or data lakes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Experience with insurance industry data is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with Databricks or similar data platforms is a plus.
