Kitchen Manager

Kayah by Burma Love, a new restaurant opening near Chase Stadium is looking for a Kitchen Manager to supervise daily back-of-house restaurant operations. The Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. Ultimately, you will ensure all dishes are properly cooked and served, and our customers have a great dining experience. This position is located in the Mission Bay neighborhood (SF).

Responsibilities:

• Oversee kitchen operations and staff.
• Ensure that all food is prepared and served to the highest standards of quality and food safety.
• Manage inventory and order supplies. Monitor budget and COGs
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve BOH operating procedures.
• Train, and develop new hires.
• Supervise food prep and cooking.
• Assist in creating menu and pricing iin collaboration with the GM.
• Be obsessed about maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years previous experience in a Kitchen Manager role in a high volume restaurant.
• Asian cuisine background is highly preferred. Possess strong knowledge of South East Asian cuisine and cooking techniques.
• Previous wok experience preferred.
• Hands on experience with planning menus and pricing.
• Understanding of restaurant financials + working knowledge of spreadsheets.
