POSITION: School Psychologist
STARTING DATE: 2024-25 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A valid Illinois Type 73 certification.
2. School Psychologist endorsement.
3. Master's degree in school psychologist from an accredited college or university.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Work Year: Will be determined according to current District contractual agreement.
2. Fringe Benefits: Health, dental, and life insurance plus sick leave, personal business leave.
3. Salary: Placement on teacher's salary schedule.

POSITION: School Psychologist
LOCATION: Oak Forest High School
EFFECTIVE DATE: 2024-25 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:A valid Illinois Type 73 certification. School Psychologist endorsement. Master's degree in school psychologist from an accredited college or university. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and PreparationDemonstrating knowledge and skill in using psychological instruments to evaluate students. Demonstrating knowledge of child and adolescent development and psychopathology. Establishing goals for the psychology program appropriate to the setting and the students served. Demonstrating knowledge of state and federal regulations, and resources, both within and beyond the school and district. Planning the psychology program, integrated with the regular school program, to meet the needs of individual students, and including prevention. Developing a plan to evaluate the psychology program. The Environment Establishing rapport with students, using interpersonal skills, such as empathy to establish trust and reduce anxiety. Establishing a culture for positive mental health throughout the school. Establishing and maintaining procedures for referrals. Establishing standards of conduct in the testing center. Organizing physical space for testing of students and storage of materials. Delivery of Service Responding to referrals, consulting with teachers and administrators. Evaluating student needs (in compliance with NASP guidelines). Chairing evaluation team. Planning interventions to maximize students' likelihood of success. Maintaining contact with physicians and community mental health service providers. Demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.
Professional ResponsibilitiesReflecting on practice. Maintaining accurate records. Communicating with families, establishing rapport and securing permissions. Participating in a professional community - providing in-service when appropriate. Engaging in professional development.
