Supervision Exercised: Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Supervision Exercised: Exercises general supervision over assigned accounting department.
Essential Functions:
1. Prepares monthly general and standard journal entries, financial statements and comparative reports, account reconciiations, and cost reports.
2. Assists independent auditors with interm and year-end audits and verifies accuracy of reports.
3. Prepares federal , state and other governmental reports such as annual tax returns, and ERISSA reports.
4. Must have working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Payroll system.
5. Prepares reports of budget expenditures, revenues and account or fund balances.
6. Directs and coordinates activities of accounting staff including payroll, accounts payable, general ledger, tax payments, and fixed assets.
7. Developes, implements, and maintains accounting policies and procedures.
8. Assists with the selection, training, and performance evaluation of assigned staff.
Educaiton: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA required, MBA preferred
Experience: Minimum of five years accounting experience includuing four years in a health care organization.
Knowledge/Skills/Activities:
Knowledge of budgeting and of cost accountingh principles
Skill in analyzing accounting information for management decision-making
Ability to analyz financial reports
Ability to identify and compute ratios and percentages
Ability to delegate authority and responsibility to staff.
