This job is a member of a high-performing technology team that leads the firm in data science by producing innovative solutions driven by turning raw data into actionable insights. You will utilize your expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning to solve complex problems, extract meaningful information, increase accuracy and efficiency, enhance existing and enable new products, and guide decision-making across the organization.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Understand the business and strategy and work with business leaders to identify and prioritize problems that advanced analytics are suited to solve
• Collect and prepare data. Help identify the business data needed to produce the most useful insights and future analytics. Gather and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and consistency
• Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies
• Utilize statistical techniques to gain insights into business processes and customer behavior.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, engineers, product managers, and business analysts, to translate data insights into actionable recommendations
• Create compelling visualizations to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Ensure data privacy and compliance and maintain data security and integrity
• Progress through DS development life cycle: ideation and data acquisition and prep
• Aid in modeling and evaluation
• Independently progress through DS development life cycle: ideation, data acquisition and prep, and modeling and evaluation
• Aid in model deployment and monitoring with guidance
• Mentor more junior data scientists

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in data science or quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering) or related experience
• Bachelor with 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
• Master or higher with 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
• Basic statistical knowledge (e.g., distributions, GLM's, hypothesis testing, p-values, summary statistics, etc.)
• Understanding of appropriate statistical application of machine learning algorithms
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Highly skilled at understanding business value of models in development and performing exploratory data analysis
• Familiar with version control tools and collaboration in cloud-based Git repositories
• Highly skilled at model development including calculating and interpreting model performance metrics
• Skilled at object-oriented programming and writing code that is reusable across projects
• Proficiency in adapting SDLC best practices for code development and testing
• Provides mentoring to more junior data scientists

Reflected below is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to academic achievements, skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

• $113,500 to $189,100 annually

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work location is remote. Minimal travel. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job.
