Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform a full range of Acupuncturist duties in accordance with state licensure. All services performed shall fall within those guidelines established by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the policies and procedures of the MTF.
  • Confer with patients and take a case history to determine overall mental, physical, and emotional health.
  • Keep accurate patient records. Obtain written concurrence for diagnostic and therapeutic acupuncture plans from supervising privileged provider, including medical note co-signature.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team with other health care providers and providing consultative services pursuant to optimal health care delivery to patients suffering from pain.
  • Work with physicians in a multidisciplinary team to provide drug therapy recommendations, perform polypharmacy management, and provide patient education regarding changes in drug therapy.
  • Participate in an on-site designated Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) tele-mentoring training program.
  • Participate in tele-mentoring, tele-medicine, and tele-con.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Be a graduate from an Oriental Medicine diploma or higher program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
  • Possess a current active certification of Diplomate of Acupuncture status from the Active National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
  • Possess and maintain an active, valid, unrestricted license to practice Acupuncture in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Possess at least two years of experience as a full-time Acupuncturist within the preceding five years.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
