The Manager, Data Architecture and Integration, is responsible for designing and executing technical solutions that enable enterprise data assets to be leveraged for maximum impact in support of USGBC's mission. They will lead a technical team responsible for the planning, development, deployment, and optimization of USGBC's enterprise data architecture. They will optimize data flows and data models to ensure comprehensive integration and interoperability between data warehousing solutions and connected environments. They will support and enhance USGBC's data governance framework, driving quality and compliance throughout organizational data management practices.

In this role you will cultivate a deep understanding of USGBC and GBCI businesses and technology architecture. Focused on integrated design, you will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that data solutions are well-tailored to support business strategy and drive immediate and lasting value for users and stakeholders. With a relentless commitment to transparency, you will champion a data-driven culture at USGBC, creating and empowering data users across the organization, democratizing access to trustworthy data, and expanding data literacy by assisting with education, training, and talent acquisition.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Technical lead for enterprise data warehouse including data ingestion and transformation, schema and table design, and upstream and downstream platform integration
  • Manage a technical team of 1-4 direct reports including solutions architects, data engineers, and related roles. Foster an inclusive team environment focused on professional growth and development
  • Design, build and deploy analytical data marts aligned with USGBC's data governance framework and ensuring interoperability across data domains and functional areas
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedures and tools for monitoring and improving data quality, including dashboards, reports, alerts, and incident response planning
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures ensuring persistent reliability, accuracy, and availability of key organizational datasets
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation of data flows and data dictionaries. Train users and key stakeholders on end-to-end data lineage
  • Optimize data warehouse performance through application of industry best practices in modeling, partitioning, indexing, compression, etc.
  • Engage with application development teams to proactively plan for and solve current/future data ingestion, reporting, and analysis requirements
  • Provide guidance, training, suggestions and troubleshooting support to business leads, power users, and other stakeholders
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and seek opportunities to advance data management practices at USGBC
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of data governance at USGBC
  • Contribute to high-profile reporting and analytics solutions as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • 7+ years' experience in analytics, business intelligence, data management, information architecture, business operations, or related field. Experience with compliance assessment or credentialing industries preferred
  • 5+ years' experience leading enterprise level data warehousing/ETL/ELT projects, including requirements, modeling, development, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in computer science, business intelligence and analytics, information technology management, data science, or related field
  • Expertise in dimensional and relational data modeling concepts
  • Proven track record of success deploying data solutions, including decision support systems, data warehousing, and analytics platforms
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with passion for data democratization and data-driven decision making
  • Strong leadership skills with proven experience effectively managing resources across multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience with one or more cloud-based data management platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Databricks) required
  • Experience with one or more ETL/ELT tools and technologies like Talend, Informatica, AWS Glue etc.)
  • High degree of technical proficiency in one or more coding languages required (SQL and Python preferred)
  • Expertise in supplying and maintaining data sets for one or more Business Intelligence/visualization platforms (PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience integrating solutions within the Microsoft 365 environment preferred
  • Experience with one or more of the following preferred: SAP, Salesforce
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for data governance and data management required (advanced certificate or training preferred)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • LEED Green Associate or higher required within 1 year of hire (training provided)

Details:
  • Full Time, permanent, salaried, benefits-eligible, exempt status
  • Location: Remote or Hybrid in-office at 2101 L Street NW, Washington, DC
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm EST, 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends
