About the Job:

This is a pivotal role in our HR Services team. You will provide local leadership for our Mining groups in Canada and the USA, overseeing payroll, benefits, and HR administration processes. This bilingual (French and English) role demands hands-on management of day-to-day operations across all Mining Canada and US locations managing a team of Payroll Specialists and HR Coordinators in USA and Canada, ensuring compliance with local legislation and business needs.

Job Summary:

Join us as the HR Services and Payroll Lead - Mining Canada & USA, where you'll spearhead our HR Services team for Bradken Mining groups across Canada and the USA. You'll oversee payroll, benefits, and HR admin processes while fostering close collaboration within our internal teams.

Embrace the autonomy this role offers, reporting to our Global Manager - HR Services & Reward, you will provide quick thinking and decisive action while collaborating in different time zones. Your key responsibilities include leading payroll operations for both wages and salary employees, driving impactful changes, and ensuring strict compliance with the People and Culture Framework.

As a strategic leader and strong communicator, you'll constantly seek innovative solutions to streamline processes in alignment with local legislation and business needs. Your proactive leadership style along with organization skills will empower your payroll team to achieve their objectives efficiently.

With a solid grasp of Canadian legislation and local agreements, coupled with expertise in payroll implementation processes and benefits management, you'll navigate complex business environments with ease. Your ability to conduct insightful business process analyses in dynamic settings will drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Criteria:
  • Fluent in English & French (Bilingual position) is required.
  • Canadian Payroll Specialist and/or Manager Certified is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of payroll experience is required.
  • Experience leading a payroll team, benefits experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce or ADP or similar systems.
  • Experience using Kronos (UKG Workforce or Dimensions) desirable.
  • Post-Secondary Education in accounting/payroll is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel & Word).
