Role description:

This is an exciting opportunity to support a large, important program with one of our clients. Our ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in technical and design roles supporting major transportation projects and their associated design criteria. Role accountabilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of design criteria for various roadway transportation projects, ensuring alignment with the client's needs, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate design criteria team across a program of design build projects, including...
  • Develop or oversee the creation of technical reports relating to design criteria, including but not limited to Design Exceptions, Design Variances, and Concept Reports, while ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Serve as the primary contact for coordinating the external review and approval process of technical reports pertaining to design criteria.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the project managers, design managers, engineers, subject matter experts, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the design criteria are met and any issues are resolved.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and status of the design criteria activities on projects across the design build program, identifying and mitigating any risks or challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise on design criteria best practices, methodologies, tools, and resources.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the roadway transportation design field and incorporate new and innovative ideas into the design criteria.
  • Engage with the client and all key stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of project objectives and success criteria.
  • Guide clients through the decision-making process and provide alternative solutions if there are changes to project parameters.
  • Coach and mentor professionals to support the development of the company's talent pool.
  • Prepare design calculations, coordinate with project teams and vendors, and be involved in multiple projects and responsible for design and engineering tasks of the project.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years' experience working in the Georgia transportation and construction industry on relevant Georgia DOT transportation design projects.
  • Design, Construction, and QA/QC experience on projects.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Proficiency in reviewing design within Bentley software packages, including MicroStation, OpenRoads, and ProjectWise
  • Thorough understanding of the relevant GDOT and AASHTO policies and standards.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and e-Builder
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15+ years' experience working in the Georgia transportation and construction industry on relevant Georgia DOT transportation design projects.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $97600 - $146400.
