Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Business Development and Marketing (Strategy and Innovation), the successful candidate is responsible for driving business development in both Individual Insurance and Investment & Retirement sales. They are tasked with implementing visionary and creative development strategies in Canada.
Main Responsibilities
MANAGEMENT
- Provide dynamic and innovative leadership to the team;
- Ensure the quality of the team's work;
- Act as a point of contact for the team to assist them with more complex analysis files;
- Organize and lead monthly and weekly team meetings;
- Establish and maintain performance indicators to assess possible improvements;
- Improve existing processes to optimize common tasks;
- Define standards for compliance and continuous improvement;
- Conduct performance reviews to establish team and individual objectives;
- Collaborate with different departments involved in continuous improvement committees;
- Participate in change management initiatives (technology, new insurance products, emerging markets);
- Assist the Privacy Officer in applying security measures, policies and other frameworks related to the protection of personal information;
- Ensure that security measures, policies, and other frameworks pertaining to the protection of personal information are read, understood and applied by the team;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Support and build strong business relationships with our existing network of advisors and independent advisors;
- Develop and expand new business relationships in Canada;
- Establish national strategies, targets, positioning, and planning in collaboration with the Executive Vice-President and the sales team to reach market expansion objectives;
- Ensure the planning and implementation of promotional strategies in a digital context;
- Monitor technologies, trends, and best practices in the industry;
- Take an active part in the company's strategic committee to generate innovative ideas;
- Design and customize sales concepts tailored to the target market;
- Mentor business development managers by implementing the necessary information and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with corporate policies and support them in meeting their objectives;
- Implement a rigorous communication process for managing and following up of sales activities to maintain excellent relationships with our partners (independent advisors and financial security advisors);
- Analyze market trends, the competitive environment, and the company's position in relation to its business strategy;
- Contribute to the development of new products and oversee their launch;
- Represent UV Insurance at social or business events organized by independent advisors or advisors.
Academic Training
- Possess a bachelor's degree in business administration, actuarial science, finance or marketing;
- Have a licence to practice as a financial security advisor in life and health insurance;
- Hold a master's degree in a discipline relevant to the position (an asset).
Experience
- Have a minimum of 15 to 20 years' experience in individual insurance and retirement investment, more specifically in business development;
- Have a minimum of 10 years' senior management experience in overseeing a team of business development professionals.
Skills and Competencies Required
- Possess in-depth knowledge of insurance and savings products;
- Possess experience in establishing strong business relationships with independent advisors and advisors;
- Have knowledge of the Canadian brokerage network;
