Job Summary:
The Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager will implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
General Expectations/Responsibilities:
- Inspects company project / jobsites to identify safety, health, and environmental risks
- Develops and implements HSE policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections
- Develops HSE procedures for all construction operations
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace/construction safety, and other related and relevant topics
- Monitors ongoing compliance with safety procedures
- Draft's inspection reports [iAuditor - OSRs] to document inspection findings, outcomes, and corrective actions
- Ensures that safety data sheets are electronically maintained and readily accessible
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required
- Coach, train, mentor employees and subcontractors on company and site-specific safety protocols and expectations
- Seek continuous professional development
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of HSE regulations, policies, and protocols
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in HSE inspections
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related Safety Software
- Skilled in databases, heavy civil/infrastructure safety trends
- Strong interpersonal, administrative skills
- Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised
- Team player and self-motivated to succeed
- Periodic daily and overnight travel required
- Legally able to work in the US.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master's degree desirable
- At least five (5) years of related HSE experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to conduct field inspections and carry related construction materials and equipment used for jobsite surveys and inspections
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer - administrative duties
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
